"The Rush Society was founded in 1914 [i.e., 1912] largely as the result of the activities of Richard M. Pearce. It lapsed with World War I [i.e., ca. 1917], to be resumed in 1925, to continue its functions as: 1) a medical lecture information bureau ... About 1929 or 1930, activities were greatly diminished.
